Programs

Building Strength.  Creating Opportunity.

At The BASICS Foundation, we believe that success begins with access, encouragement, and unity. Too often, young people and families in underserved communities are left to simply “get by.” But survival is not enough, we were created to progress, to multiply, and to thrive.

That’s why our programs are designed to remove barriers and open doors. From giving children the chance to participate in sports, to helping young adults step confidently into the workforce, to combining volunteer service with athletic training, each initiative reflects our core belief: when we cooperate, we multiply.

Our programs don’t just provide resources; they build character, strengthen integrity, and create lasting opportunities for growth. Explore our initiatives below and see how The BASICS Foundation is helping families and youth move from survival to success.

Fair Play Program

Because every child deserves a chance to play, grow, and belong.

We fund enrollment fees for sports, clubs, and private training for foster youth and qualifying families. Beyond athletics, Fair Play offers young people a safe space to build confidence, develop teamwork, and strengthen social skills.

–  Who Qualifies: Foster care youth and families on Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC
–  Ages: 4–18
–  Program Requirement: Minimum 4 weeks in length

Suited for Success

Because the right tools open the right doors.

Transitioning to adulthood can be daunting, especially for those aging out of foster care or facing homelessness. Suited for Success equips young adults with professional attire and career resources so they can step confidently into interviews, internships, and employment.

–  Who Qualifies: Current and former foster care youth and adults, Medicaid, SNAP, WIC recipients
–  Ages: 14–23

B2B Volunteer

Because service builds character and opens opportunity.

B2B (Back-to-Basics) Volunteer is a unique program that combines community service with basketball development and AAU sponsorships. Youth volunteer their time and talent in exchange for free basketball training, tournament sponsorship, and personal growth opportunities.

How It Works:
–  Youth register as volunteers, coaches, or program helpers.
–  A matchmaking system pairs volunteers with community needs.
–  Hours served translate into training credits or AAU sponsorship.
–  Volunteers and coaches track progress and provide feedback, ensuring growth and accountability.

Through B2B, young people learn leadership, teamwork, and responsibility, while sharpening their athletic skills and advancing their futures.
